Remarkable garden and historic monument celebrates its 100th anniversary in Menton
The Botanical Garden Our Lady's Serre, located at 74 road from Gorbio to Menton (Alpes-Maritimes), is an extraordinary place nestled on the heights of a hill, arranged between 1924 and 1939 by landscaper Lawrence Johnston. It hosts more than 5,000 plant species from around the world, organized in terraces, basins, stairs and pergolas, offering a unique walk combining botanical rarity and landscape architecture. The site is classified Historical monument since 1990 and is also labeled Remarkable garden. Open to the public most of the year, it is a beautiful cultural, peaceful and rich in plant discoveries on the Côte d'Azur.
On the occasion of the 100 years of the garden, concerts, exhibitions, conferences and animations will accompany this reopening by paying a vibrant tribute to the springing of colors, Smells, shapes and materials. The studio was invited by ASJEM and the city of Menton to imagine a lively and colourful identity Expanding through multiple media: posters, signage, invitation card, programs and videos. The centenary of the Madonna's greenhouse was held from May 31 to October 28 for the 2024 season.
